Direct to Garment

What is digital tshirt printing?

DTG Printing or Direct To Garment printing is a print process that produces incredibly high-quality artwork onto garments that will stand the test of time. Think of a paper printer, but on a larger scale. The tshirt mimics the paper. DTG printers operate very similar to that of an inkjet printer but use water based ink to print directly onto the fabric. Because of this specific type of ink, the best type of garment suitable for DTG Printing is 100% cotton . There is no colour limit for direct to garment printing so for 1 set price, you can print vibrant photo quality prints that wont peel or crack over time.

How does Direct To Garment (DTG ) Printing actually work?

Step 1: Picking your garment. – what is the best garment for DTG Printing? 100% Cotton works best for DTG Printing as it gives a smooth surface for the ink to adhere too.

Step 2: Once the garment is picked, the second step is to pre treat the garment. The garment is treated with a solution that will allow the white ink to stick to the tshirt.  Think of the pre treatment process as applying “glue” to the tshirt to allow the ink to stick. The pre treatment is not a permanent feature to the artwork but may leave a mark on the garment once the garment has been heat pressed. If pre treated correctly, this should come off after the first wash of the garment.

Step 3: The fun part! This is where the DTG printer works its magic. Our team will load your selected garment and artwork into our printer where the design is printed directly onto the garment.

Step 4: The last step of the printing process – Once the artwork is printed and the DTG printer has completed its process, the tshirt is put through another round of heat press or tunnel dryer to cure the ink to permanently set the artwork into the garment.

Step 5: This is where we up our customer service – once the garment has been printed and cured, our despatch team will carefully pack your order and arrange the best delivery service to get your order out to you as soon as possible for you to enjoy.

With over 15 years of service in the tshirt, apparel printing and promotional merchandise industry, our team works closely with all businesses around Australia including Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Darwin, Canberra.
